"Everyone Counts"
Elizabeth Nicola, a student in Rob Millard-Mendez’s ART 104 Design in Materials course, designed “Everyone Counts,” a sculpture made of bronze.
"My piece is meant to show the efforts being put into this crisis by the people who work at hospitals. My father is a nurse, so I have a connection with the people who work closely with those who are infected," Nicola says. "I want the use of bronze to show that everyone is the same, and the placement of the custodian in the front shows how vital their jobs are. With how uncertain things are right now, I wanted to show how strong the people working in hospitals are for continuing to do their jobs. Having the doctor and nurse supporting the heart is my way of showing that intention."
